Taking a Picture of your Computer Screen (Windows and Mac) Windows Option 1: Copy your entire screen 1. Click the Print Screen button on your keyboard to take a picture of what is displayed on your computer screen. You will find this button near the top right side of your keyboard. Open a new Word document. Select Edit Paste. You don't need a camera to take a screen shot of your computer. In fact, a camera would probably give you an extremely blurry picture! There is a special button on your keyboard called Prnt Scrn. All you need to do is press that button. The screen shot of your desktop is then stored onto your clipboard. - Drag the crosshair to select the area of the screen to capture. To move the selection, press and hold Space bar while dragging. To cancel taking the screenshot, press the Esc (Escape) key.
- To take the screenshot, release your mouse or trackpad button.

How to capture a window or menu
- Open the window or menu that you want to capture.

- Click the window or menu to capture it. To exclude the window's shadow from the screenshot, press and hold the Option key while you click.

Where to find screenshots
By default, screenshots save to your desktop with the name ”Screen Shot [date] at [time].png.”
In macOS Mojave or later, you can change the default location of saved screenshots from the Options menu in the Screenshot app. You can also drag the thumbnail to a folder or document.

How to screenshot on Lenovo if you have Windows 10
- Hold down the Windows key, then press the PrtSc key. The screen will dim for a moment, and the image on your monitor will save to the Screenshots folder in your Files.
- Another way to screenshot is to hold down the Windows key, then press the W key. A sidebar menu will appear on the right side of your monitor. Select ScreenSketch from the menu.
Make any edits you might want to the image, then hit save.

How to screenshot on Lenovo if you don't have Windows 10
If you don't have Windows 10, use this method instead. It requires more steps, but it combines the functionality of the other two.

2. Open Paint, or a similar application, and use the Paste function to open the image in the program.
